Passion Play Rehearsal Schedule

It is now time to start planning for this year’s Passion Play. This annual production is put on by the teens and has only a handful of practices. We will ask that you if you want to be part of the play that you do make it to all of the practices, and all of the performances as well.

Saturday April 3rd, 9:00 a.m. to Noon we will help set up the church for Easter vigil and Easter Sunday Masses.

Easter Sunday, April 4th, Lifeteen will pass out balloons and Holy Water after 9:30 a.m. Mass.

Random Acts of Kindness

On Saturday March 27 we will meet at St. Mary’s at 10:00 a.m. for Random Acts of Kindness. This is an opportunity for stewardship, to give back to a parish community that appreciates you so much, and we achieve this by taking on random and kind projects. The goal of this day is to take on the tasks that are unappealing to most people, but the teens at St. Mary’s willingly take on these jobs with a smile. Come and join us and discover what a hard days work can do for yourself and your community.

Open LifeHouse

All High School students are welcome and encouraged to join us in the LifeHouse this Friday for Open LifeHouse. It will start at 6:00 p.m. and go until 9:00 p.m.. Open LifeHouse has always been the rave, anyone who is new to Lifeteen should join us. We will be playing pool, ping pong, air hockey, possibly the Wii. We will be sharing the LifeHouse with the Lenten film series. Which was the case last Friday at Game Night, but it worked out beautifully! See you there.

Lent

Lent allows us time to reflect and pray about the coming of Holy Week, during which we will celebrate Christ’s victory over death which makes possible our eternal salvation.

•At Saint Mary’s we have several special events during the Lenten Season:

The Light is on For You – On Wednesdays during Lent, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Church, we will have a Holy Hour, Matt Kimble will be singing, and confessions will be heard.

•Reconciliation

How we observe Lent:

•No meat on Fridays

•Giving up something important to us

•Increased charity

•Fasting on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday

Pick up Basketball at Cardinal Cushing

We will once again assemble the Lifeteen Dream Team for a game of pick-up Basketball at Cardinal Cushing on Saturday March 20. We will meet at St. Mary’s at 10:00 a.m. and head over to Cardinal Cushing for a 11:00 a.m. tip-off. There is a sign-up sheet in the LifeHouse for anyone who missed out on the last game or for those of you already on the Dream Team. The game should be over by noon on Saturday, at which time we will go to the LifeHouse for a post-game press conference and Open LifeHouse. Don’t forget your headbands and high-tops!

Here is the March calendar for Lifeteen Hanover. Plenty of opportunity to hang out in the luxurious LifeHouse and enjoy all of it’s amenities! We will have Homework Days on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays during this month. Pizza and Prayer every Monday, and we will assemble the Lifeteen Dream Team to play at Cardinal Cushing. The Lip Sync, for all 1st through 8th graders, is also coming this month. Don’t miss out on that opportunity to participate or to watch the show on the 19th.

ATTENTION Middle School/ EDGE Students. During the month of March we have some exciting events for you. On March 19th we will be hosting a Lip Sync contest at the Parish Center. We only have room for 33 acts and this contest is open to anyone from our parish or from outside our parish. Grab an application and get it in before March 10 if you would like to participate. Check out this website for more information.

On Friday March 26 we will have Middle School Pizza and Prayer from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. down in the LifeHouse. Please join us, after prayer there will be plenty of time to eat some pizza, drink some soda, socialize with friends and meet new friends, as well as play pool, ping-pong, air hockey, and Foosball.

Pizza and Prayer – Mondays

Every Monday join us in the Lifehouse for Pizza and Prayer. Prayer starts at 6:30 where we sit for an hour of reflective meditation and prayer while singing all of our favorite songs. After prayer we enjoy some pizza and take time to socialize, the night ends at 8:00 p.m.

The Lifehouse is always open at 3:00 p.m. on Mondays for Homework Days or for Open Lifehouse. All are welcome to join us, grab a friend and bring your homework.

Fr. Chris Hickey

Father Chris grew up in Boston. After High School he was a Boston Police Cadet for three years. After attending St. John’s Seminary, he was ordained to the priesthood in May of 1994. Fr. Chris’ first assignment was in Maynard, MA at St. Bridget’s. After two years at St. Bridget’s he went over to St. Mary’s in Dedham, MA where he founded the Lifeteen program. His term at St. Mary’s was extended by the Archdiocese and after serving in at St. Mary’s in Dedham for seven years he was offered the pastoral position at St. Williams in Dorchester. Father Chris was appointed Pastor at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart church in Hanover, MA in September of 2004. On his days off, Fr. Chris enjoys golfing, hanging out with friends, and looking at old prom pictures. Father Chris’ favorite memories of Lifeteen are seeing the Pope with hundreds of teens at World Youth Day in Paris, Rome, Toronto, Germany, and Australia.
